Bishop Iyad Twal participates in a youth gathering titled "The Journey of Freedom: From Darkness to Light."

On August 21, 2026, His Excellency Bishop Iyad Twal participated in a youth camp for high school students titled “The Journey of Freedom: From Darkness to Light.” The camp was held with the support of the Pontifical Mission in Jordan and organized by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, represented by Sister Sanaa Samawi, with participants joining from various governorates across the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

During the camp, His Excellency delivered an interactive lecture addressing several challenges and restrictions facing young people today, as well as ways to break free from them and move toward a more conscious and responsible life. He encouraged the youth to raise their questions and discuss the issues on their minds within an atmosphere of open dialogue and engagement.

The gathering concluded with the celebration of the Holy Mass, presided over by Bishop Iyad Twal and assisted by Fr. Khaled Qamoh. The service was attended by Mr. Raed Bahou, Regional Director of the Pontifical Mission in Jordan, alongside the youth, leaders, supervisors, and camp participants.

Bishop Twal’s participation comes as part of ongoing efforts to accompany young people, nurture their faith journey, and inspire them to discover true freedom—the kind that leads to light, hope, and life with Christ.
