The Council of Latin Bishops in the Arab Countries convened in Rome for a three-day meeting, bringing together the bishops to discuss key ecclesial and pastoral matters concerning the Latin Church across the region. The meeting runs through September 3.

During the meeting, the bishops met with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Holy See, and also held a meeting with Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches. The discussions addressed the situation of the Churches in the Arab countries and the challenges they face, as well as ways to strengthen their presence, mission, and their pastoral service to the faithful.
