The Latin Patriarchal Vicariate in Jordan held, today, Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the election of the members of its new Council of Priests, with the participation of priests from Latin parishes across the Kingdom. The election took place within the pastoral and organizational life of the Vicariate, and reflects its commitment to strengthening the spirit of communion and shared responsibility in serving the Church and her mission.
The session was presided over by His Excellency Bishop Iyad Twal, Latin Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan. The election was held in an atmosphere of priestly fraternity and ecclesial spirit, with the priests taking part in the election of the new members of the Council, in response to their call to contribute actively to the pastoral life of the Church and to strengthen cooperation and coordination among the various parishes, institutions, and sectors of the Vicariate.
The Council of Priests is an advisory body that reflects the spirit of ecclesial communion and provides priests with an opportunity to participate in the consideration of various pastoral and organizational matters concerning the life and mission of the Church. It also serves as a space for dialogue, consultation, and the sharing of experiences, contributing to the strengthening of pastoral ministry and the unity of the Church’s mission in Jordan.
